To print a pedigree chart:
1.
Open the Reports dialog by selecting "File, Print a report" from the main menu, by clicking the printer button on the toolbar, or by pressing Ctrl+P and choose either "Charts" or "All Reports" from the list on the right side of the Reports dialog.
2.
Choose "Pedigree chart" from the list on the left side of the Reports dialog, and click "Create Report" to open the Report Settings dialog, or Close to exit the dialog.
3.
Select your options from the Report Settings dialog:
a.
Starting person – Select the starting person for your pedigree chart (this person will be the person at the far left of the first chart). By default RootsMagic will use whoever was highlighted on the main screen when you opened the Reports dialog, but you can change the person here.
b.
Generations per page – Select the number of generations you want to show on each page of your pedigree chart (4, 5, or 6).
c.
Chart number of 1st chart - Enter the number of the first chart printed (usually "1").
d.
Start person is same as X on chart Y - Tells you if the first person on one of the cascading chart pages appears on another chart. This information is at the top of the printout and gives you the chart number where the person is repeated and his or her number in that particular chart.
e.
Print cascading charts - Mark this checkbox if you want to produce a series of pedigree charts that span multiple generations for the highlighted person and then for each person in the last generation of the first chart. When you choose cascading charts, you have the following additional options.
f.

g.

i.
Include private facts – Mark this checkbox to print any facts you have marked as private.
j.
Print preparer – Mark this checkbox to have RootsMagic print the preparer info on the charts.
k.
Print sources – Mark this checkbox to have RootsMagic print source citations for each person and fact on the chart. Pedigree charts only support sources as "endnotes" since the pedigree chart fills the entire page so that footnotes wouldn't fit. It will also combine all citations for each person or fact into a single source reference number to prevent multiple source numbers from overwriting text.
4.
Choose Font, Layout and Indexes to change your settings from the default values. (Click Reset to return all settings to the default settings.)
5.
Click the "Generate Report" button to generate the report and display it in the Report Viewer. From there you can modify the report settings, send the report to your printer, save the report to disk, or email the report.

The photo tree is a photo of a tree with a 3-generation ancestry overlaid on it. You can choose the box style you want and whether or not you want to include the siblings of the highlighted person. The photographs will be positioned throughout a tree with the highlighted person on the trunk, with siblings (if you checked that box) on the trunk of the tree as well, and the rest of the family members - father, mother, and grandparents - will be positioned higher up the tree.
