Opening Multiple Databases

RootsMagic allows you to open multiple databases at the same time. When you open or create a new database, RootsMagic opens the database in a new window.

Closing Databases

There are a couple of ways to close an open database.

1. Click the close button on the window. This will close both the database and the window.
2. Select the File page, then Close File. This will only close the file but will leave the window open so that you can open another file.

Copying People Between Databases

If you have more than one different database on screen at once, you can drag and drop people from one database to another. This can be especially useful if you want to split off part of your database to a new database. Simply create a new database, then drag and drop people from your database into the new empty one.
