RootsMagic has the ability to save your database to Dropbox to use with the RootsMagic IOS app.
To access this option:
- Select the Files page
- Select Export Data
- Select DropBox
A browser window will open which will let you sign in to Dropbox, or create a Dropbox account if you don't already have one. This sign in screen is directly on the Dropbox site, and RootsMagic never has access to your login or password.
Once you have logged in, you may be asked to give permission for RootsMagic to access its folder in Dropbox (the Apps > RootsMagic folder). This is the only folder RootsMagic has access to, and the only thing it does is copy the current database into that folder. If the folder doesn't exist, RootsMagic will create the folder and then copy the current file into it.
This feature does require you to have a Dropbox account, but does not require you to actually install Dropbox on your computer. RootsMagic uploads the RootsMagic file directly to your Dropbox folder online.
Once you have saved your database to Dropbox, you can load that file into the iOS app from Dropbox.
