The same dialog is used to enter a new address or edit an existing address, for a person, a couple (family) or a repository.
The address fields are:
- Name – Enter the person or couple's names the way you would like to see it in an address list
- Street address – Enter the street address, the mailing address or postal address, depending on what you want to see in the address list. Be consistent.
- City – Enter the city where the person or couple resides
- State – Enter the state or province or county where the person resides, depending on your country
- Postal Code – Enter the postal code associated with the mailing address above
- Country – Enter the country where the person or couple resides
- Phone – Enter the phone number of the person or couple
- Cell phone – Enter the person's cell phone number
- Fax – Enter the person or couple's fax number
- Email – Enter the person's e-mail address
- Website – Enter the URL for the person or couple's website
- Notes – Enter any pertinent notes, such as driving instructions
There are also four buttons:
- Send Email – Click this button to open a new email message to the email address above
- Visit Website – Click this button to have RootsMagic open your browser and display the website entered above
- Click "OK" to accept the data entered or changes made, or "Cancel" to discard changes
