When you save a report to disk, RootsMagic will prompt you for the format to save it in. (Note: Some formats are not available with every report type.)
You may choose from:
- Rich-Text File (RTF) – Save this report to a file that can be opened and edited by a word processor.
- Acrobat PDF – Save this report to a PDF file that can be viewed and printed by others.
- Web Page (HTML) – Save this report to a file that can be viewed in a web browser.
- Text File – Save this report as a plain text file that can be edited in a simple editor or spreadsheet.
By checking "View this file after it is saved", RootsMagic will automatically open the file with its associated program after saving is complete.
To save a report on one of the above formats:
- Open the report dialog, and click "Lists" in the left hand column to see all of the available list types.
- Select the list report you want to print and click "Create Report"
- Select the options and settings in the "Report Settings" dialog, and click "Generate Report"
- Click the Save button in the Toolbar and select one of the output format buttons
- Choose a location to save the file to and enter a filename, and click Save. You can click Cancel to abandon the save operation.
